As a teacher, Yiannis is very perceptive. He could identify problems easily and the lack of physical presence didn’t hinder his ability to target weaknesses. He is patient and he can explain guitar and music theory concepts thoroughly. He will give you his opinion on what you should do without forcing you to do anything. Instead, he will help you improve in any area you choose. That being playing faster, or articulating better, or expressing yourself in various ways, or understanding theory or whatever it is that you want to concentrate on. As a person, he is a good professional. Moreover he is friendly and a pleasant human to be around. The only time you might feel diminished with a capital D around Yiannis, is when you first meet the D diminished 7 chord! 🙂

Although I was a little hesitant on how it would be possible to take guitar lessons via the internet with just a webcam, Yiannis has made it so it’s easy to communicate with his camera and sound setup which is really good, so good that it almost feels like there’s no distance between us. It’s actually more comfortable since you can sit at home where you’re more relaxed, with your guitars and equipment and waste no time with transportation for each lesson, so it changed my mind on how lessons should be.
In general, he’s a super nice guy, a fun person to chat with, but above all he is excellent at grasping your needs as a guitar player both in technique and theory and can help you improve, but without being too strict or demanding.
